Welcome! I am known as
Astrid Vahlström,
a curious and passionate UX-Designer.
People, technology, and how they can work together form the foundation of my curiosity and interest in UX.
What I've done
With a degree in Web Development (specializing in e-commerce) and several years of professional experience as a designer and developer, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a number of wonderful projects!
I’ve had opportunities to design everything from logos and branding to infographics and board game pieces for my amazing clients.
With my Webdeveloper degree I have worked with and for some incredible projects, both freelance and at agencies.
Fully responsive websites in varying industries and scale. I have also developed and managed e-commerce.
My projects
Here you’ll find the work I’ve done, organized and ready to explore. Each project has taught me something, and I’m so proud and grateful to have been able to use my skills and abilities to help others!
UX Design in different shapes
My collection of UX Projects, mainly on UXR but also some prototyping and theory!
Branddesign and indentity
Logotype to Ica Kvantum? Absolutely! Graphical Profile to a brand new company? Of course!
Graphic Design, both digital and analogue!
Whether you’re interested in how I designed a poster for a village café, created infographics for an international agricultural company, illustrated bats for a children’s board game, or something entirely different—you’ll find it all here!
Who I am
A hopeless dreamer, a stubborn thinker, a lover of black licorice... There are as many facets to me as there are drops in the ocean, but here’s a glimpse of who I am beyond my career!
Climber
Scaling the walls, literally! Also called bouldering.
Musician
Singing and music have always been close to my heart and a big part of me!
Gamer
Anything from online games with friends to discover immersive worlds by my own!
It’s hard to capture everything a person is in a few sentences, but here goes! I’m an ambitious young woman from Norrland, one of four sisters, now living in Stockholm and consuming (by some accounts) copious amounts of coffee. After moving south, I discovered my love for bouldering, or indoor rock climbing, which I do several times a week and in between I do poledancing!
Beyond climbing, I love getting lost in the amazing world of games—a passion that started with my first Mario game (Super Mario 64) as a kid. This hobby has been with me for a while and even inspired me to learn 3D modeling on my own!
My relationship with music is also lifelong; as a teenager, I was a singer and bassist in a rock band, and now I’m an experienced shower singer. I think most things are better with a good song, so I listen to music a lot while doing other things.
Make a difference, big or small
Inclusivity is something that drives me, both in the proffessional environments as well as the designs I produce. I totally stand by the perspective that Us as designers and companies must take responsibility, socially as well as environmentally.
So I gave it my all and created a workshop on inclusivity
Out of frustration with the lack of inclusivity and diversity in the tech and gaming industries, the idea of hosting a workshop was born. Together with an amazing team, we created a groundbreaking, full-day workshop on my campus. The participants’ feedback exceeded all expectations, and I was even invited to lead the workshop again for the next class.
This experience has not only strengthened my belief in the importance of promoting inclusivity but has also given me the insight that every individual and every action can be a catalyst for positive change.
